Product Description

What is Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT)

NPWT is an adjunctive treatment technique to promote wound healing. The use of negative pressure pumps, parafilms, negative pressure patches, and biocompatible pore materials (such as medical grade PU sponge) to create continuous or intermittent negative pressure in the wound area can make the wound uniformly receive negative pressure to shrink. At the same time, it plays a critical role in drainage, removing excess exudate and providing a humid environment for the healing of damaged tissue, reducing peri-wound tissue edema, and stimulating granulation tissue proliferation to accelerate the healing process.

Principles of Operation

The core principle is generating continuous or intermittent negative pressure locally on the wound surface. Key healing factors include:

  • Mechanical shrinking of the wound area
  • Significant reduction of tissue edema
  • Effective reduction of wound oozing
  • Mechano-mechanical stimulation of wound tissue
  • Promotion of granulation tissue formation
  • Increased local blood perfusion

Key Advantages

  • Accelerated overall wound healing process
  • Reduced risk of localized wound infection
  • Fewer required dressing changes
  • Reduction of wound exudate and associated odor

Indications for Use

  • Chronic wounds (diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers)
  • Wounds with high levels of exudation
  • Acute wounds with high infection risks
  • Smaller second-degree burn wounds
  • Contaminated wounds unsuitable for immediate skin grafting

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the primary clinical benefits of using the NPWTI system?
The system accelerates wound healing by reducing edema, removing exudates, and stimulating the growth of granulation tissue through localized negative pressure.
How long does the battery last for portable use?
The built-in battery provides at least 6 hours of continuous operation, making it suitable for patient mobility and transport.
What is the capacity of the drainage canister?
The system comes with a 450ML canister, providing ample volume for collecting wound exudates before requiring a change.
Can this device be used for both adults and children?
Yes, the NPWTI model is designed for use across both adult and pediatric patient groups.
What types of wounds are most suitable for this therapy?
It is ideal for chronic wounds like diabetic and pressure ulcers, acute infected wounds, and high-exudate wounds.
Does the system provide real-time monitoring?
Yes, the device features an integrated LCD display for monitoring operational parameters and status during therapy.
